TOPIC: DO I KNOW THE JOY OF REPENTANCE AS A SON/DAUGHTER OF OUR HEAVENLY FATHER?

First Reading: Micah 7: 14-15, 18-20
Responsorial Psalm: Psalms 103: 1-2, 3-4, 9-10, 11-12
Verse Before the Gospel: Luke 15: 18
Gospel: Luke 15: 1-3, 11-32

My wife Precie and I, together with 15 leaders from the Filipino Catholic community (CFCs and non-CFCs) in Tokyo, had the opportunity to reflect deeply on Luke 15:11-32 as we prepared ourselves for the First World Apostolic Congress on Mercy (WACOM) from April 2-8, 2008. Pope Benedict XVI exhorted the 4,000 delegates to be “Witnesses of Mercy.”

In the parable of the Merciful Father, Jesus gives a vivid picture of God and what God is like. God is truly kinder than us. He does not lose hope or give up when we stray. He rejoices in finding the lost and in welcoming them home. Do we know the joy of repentance as a son or daughter of our heavenly Father?

This is the 1792nd installment of our CFC contemplation series focusing on the daily liturgical readings.

[NOTE: Let us listen to our brother Solphie Confiado, Country Coordinator for CFC Egypt, as he brings us today's reflection.

All the regular reflections are between 3-7 minutes long, enough time for us to ponder what God's message is for us individually and to pray that we may live them out in our lives. This video is also available on Couples for Christ’s Facebook page. In You Tube, just type ONLY BY GRACE REFLECTIONS]
