TOPIC: HOW FAR ARE YOU PREPARED TO FOLLOW GOD’S WILL IN YOUR LIFE?

First Reading: Micah 7: 14-15, 18-20
Responsorial Psalm: Psalms 85: 2-4, 5-6, 7-8
Alleluia: John 14: 23
Gospel: Matthew 12: 46-50

We may be doing many things that we feel allow us to express our faith as Christians such as serving in the Church or a community, or sharing our time, talent, and treasure to help the poor and those in need. While all these are definitely good and may be pleasing to God’s eyes, if these are done out of mere routine or obligation, to show off, or for any other reason that is not out of obedience to the will of God, our relationship with Him will not prosper.

Pope Francis said, “If we wish to follow Christ closely, we cannot choose an easy, quiet life. It will be a demanding life, but full of joy.”. Following Christ is surely difficult, but it is by His love and grace that we will be able to carry it through.

This is the 1548th installment of our CFC contemplation series focusing on the daily liturgical readings.

[NOTE: Let us listen to our brother Lawrence Quintero, a member of the CFC International Council, as he brings us today's reflection.

All the regular reflections are between 3-7 minutes long, enough time for us to ponder what God's message is for us individually and to pray that we may live them out in our lives. This video is also available on Couples for Christ’s Facebook page. In You Tube, just type ONLY BY GRACE REFLECTIONS]
