TOPIC: ARE YOU STILL LOOKING FOR A SIGN?

First Reading: Exodus 14: 5-18
Responsorial Psalm: Exodus 15: 1bc-2, 3-4, 5-6
Alleluia: Psalms 95: 8
Gospel: Matthew 12: 38-42

When the scribes were demanding a miracle, Jesus must have been saddened by the disbelief and hard-heartedness of the scribes and Pharisees, who, in spite of having witnessed the various miracles He had performed, still remained unbelieving and demanded more SIGNS.

Unfortunately, just like the scribes, people in today's world continue to have the tendency to ask for more SIGNS. Like doubting Thomas, we tend to have the "to see is to believe" attitude. When our minds are already set on how we want God to respond, like demanding that He make you win the lottery as a SIGN of His love, we'll miss out on the many miracles that He allows us to witness and experience. It could be as great as walking away unhurt from a deadly car accident or healing from a serious illness, or it could be as simple as the miracle of being able to wake up each morning.

This is the 1190th installment of our CFC contemplation series focusing on the daily liturgical readings.

[NOTE: As we continue to pray for Bro Bong Arjonillo’s healing and recovery, let us listen to our brother Eric Villanueva, CFC Europe & Africa Missions Head, as he brings us today's reflection.]

All the regular reflections are between 3-7 minutes long, enough time for us to ponder what God's message is for us individually and to pray that we may live them out in our lives. This video is also available on Couples for Christ’s Facebook page. In You Tube, just type ONLY BY GRACE REFLECTIONS]
