First Reading: Genesis 12: 1-9

Gospel: Matthew 7: 1-5
Jesus wants us to avoid passing judgement on others and try to free ourselves from prejudices as it can cloud our judgement. He wants us to examine ourselves carefully, identify the areas that need improvement, and then pray for the fortitude to make progress in those areas. Most importantly, let's beg for compassion, both for ourselves and for people whose attitudes and actions we find challenging to accept, or to put simply, those who judge us.
We need to remember that when we judge others, we do not define them, we define ourselves. In our prayer time today, let’s recall on the times when we ourselves have been judged unfairly and ask God to give us the grace to learn the effect we have on people when we pass judgement on them hoping to learn how we can be more loving and tolerant in our attitude towards others.
This is the 1170th installment of our CFC contemplation series focusing on the daily liturgical readings.
[NOTE: As we continue to pray for Bro Bong Arjonillo’s healing and recovery, let us listen to our brother Eric Villanueva, CFC Europe & Africa Missions Head, as he brings us today's reflection.
All the regular reflections are between 3-7 minutes long, enough time for us to ponder what God's message is for us individually and to pray that we may live them out in our lives.
