Topic: Where in my life or family do I most need peace—and am I ready to let Jesus walk in? (27 April 2025 - Only By Grace Reflections)

First Reading: Acts 5: 12-16
Responsorial Psalm: Psalms 118: 2-4, 13-15, 22-24
Second Reading: Revelation 1: 9-11a, 12-13, 17-19
Alleluia: John 20: 29
Gospel: John 20:19-31

In today’s Gospel, the disciples were hiding in fear. Thomas was doubting. But Jesus came anyway—not to rebuke, but to restore. Jesus showed His wounds to heal, not to shame. Jesus breathed the Holy Spirit to strengthen the weak, not to impress the strong.

Thomas, who was absent at first, mirrors many of us in community life and mission—those who have seen too much pain, carried too much alone, or felt too distant from the fire of faith. And yet, Jesus comes back—for him. For us. Jesus invites Thomas to touch the wounds. And in that encounter, Thomas moves from doubt to declaration: “My Lord and my God.”

Today, we are invited to let Jesus enter the locked doors of our hearts, marriages, families, and communities—completely—not just partially.
