TOPIC: WHEN THE GOING GETS ROUGH, WILL I REMAIN FAITHFUL TO JESUS?

First Reading: Isaiah 50: 4-9a
Responsorial Psalm: Psalms 69: 8-10, 21-22, 31 and 33-34
Gospel: Matthew 26: 14-25

In today's Gospel reading, we find Judas plotting with the Jewish religious leaders in betraying Jesus on one hand and then having supper with Him and the rest of the Apostles on the other.

Throughout history, It had been easy to think of Judas as being worse than the other disciples. But if that were true, then everyone would have quickly identified him as the betrayer when Jesus said, “One of you will betray me.” Instead, Judas appeared to be just like any one of them and all the apostles in asking, “Is it I?”

Each one of us could easily become a Judas by compromising on our principles. May the Holy Spirit give us the strength to stand firm in our Christian values and the courage to be shoulder to shoulder with those who fight for the Truth.

This is the 1430th installment of our CFC contemplation series focusing on the daily liturgical readings.

[NOTE: As we continue to pray for Bro Bong Arjonillo’s healing and recovery, let us listen to our brother Raymond Bucu, South Asia Regional Coordinator and Provincial Area Head of Bataan, as he brings us today's reflection.

All the regular reflections are between 3-7 minutes long, enough time for us to ponder what God's message is for us individually and to pray that we may live them out in our lives. This video is also available on Couples for Christ’s Facebook page. In You Tube, just type ONLY BY GRACE REFLECTIONS]
