TOPIC: DO I STILL SEE MY MARRIAGE AS SOMETHING PERMANENT?

Brothers and sisters, today Jesus reminds us once again that marriage is meant to be forever and a lifelong commitment. Fr. Joel Jason, Spiritual Adviser of Couples for Christ, once said, “Forever in marriage is not just a sentiment; it is a commitment.” If we view marriage as simply feelings-based, we may expect it to be short-lived and fleeting. However, when we treat commitment as central to our marriage, we actively strive to build a lasting partnership with our spouse.
 
That said, making our marriage last forever can be challenging—if not impossible — unless we allow God, the author of our union, to be at its core. By centering our relationship on God, we create a more resilient and enduring marriage. Additionally, having a common spiritual goal can provide direction and unity within our partnership.
