First Reading: Exodus 12: 1-8, 11-14
Responsorial Psalm: Psalms 116: 12-13, 15-16bc, 17-18
Second Reading: First Corinthians 11: 23-26
Verse Before the Gospel: John 13: 34
Gospel: John 13: 1-15

Our Gospel acclamation today reminds us that this new covenant is all about love: God’s love for us, revealed perfectly in the Life, Death and Resurrection, and our love for one another, following Jesus’ own standard of love. “I give you a new commandment: love one another as I have loved you.” How did Jesus love us? He became our servant, and he calls us to serve one another.

This Holy Thursday, we celebrate the Priesthood and the Eucharist. This perpetual institution in the celebration of the Mass, in which the Lord nourishes us and saves us by His Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity. As we receive the Eucharist at tonight’s solemn Mass, we receive everything we need to follow Jesus and obey His commands to “love one another.”

This is the 1424th installment of our CFC contemplation series focusing on the daily liturgical readings.

[NOTE: As we continue to pray for Bro Bong Arjonillo’s healing and recovery, let us listen to our brother Rouquel Ponte, a member of the CFC Board of Elders, as he brings us today's reflection.

All the regular reflections are between 3-7 minutes long, enough time for us to ponder what God's message is for us individually and to pray that we may live them out in our lives. This video is also available on Couples for Christ’s Facebook page. In You Tube, just type ONLY BY GRACE REFLECTIONS]
