TOPIC: WOULD YOU STILL CHOOSE TO PROCLAIM THE TRUTH EVEN IF IT ENTAILS MUCH SACRIFICE?
First Reading: First Thessalonians 2: 1-8
Responsorial Psalm: Psalms 139: 1-3, 4-6
Alleluia: Matthew 5: 10
Gospel: Mark 6: 17-29
When we commit to follow Christ, we will come across situations where we will be called to stand for God’s Truth. In today’s world, when we are bombarded with confusing information and lies on social media and even in schools, about marriage and family values, we need to be courageous enough to educate people, beginning with our families, about God’s design for marriage and family.
We might not be called upon to proclaim the truth about big issues, but we do need to realize that it is in our daily encounters with the people around us, especially those closest to us, that the witness of our Christian lives can create a big impact in their own lives. We should therefore be faithful in proclaiming and witnessing the truth of God’s love and faithfulness.
This is the 1222nd installment of our CFC contemplation series focusing on the daily liturgical readings.
[NOTE: As we continue to pray for Bro Bong Arjonillo’s healing and recovery, let us listen to our brother Lawrence Quintero, a member of the CFC International Council, as he brings us today's reflection.
All the regular reflections are between 3-7 minutes long, enough time for us to ponder what God's message is for us individually and to pray that we may live them out in our lives.
