TOPIC: IS MY LIFE RESPLENDENT ENOUGH TO LIGHT THE PATH OF OTHERS?
First Reading: Hebrews 10: 19-25
Responsorial Psalm: Psalms 24: 1-2, 3-4ab, 5-6
Alleluia: Psalms 119: 105
Gospel: Mark 4: 21-25
Let us examine the light of our lamps — our lives. Does my light have an impact on the life of others? Remember, a light kept to itself is still darkness. Am I inspiring to my own family, in my workplace, and the people around me? Is my life bright enough to light the path of others, bright enough to be passed on to the next generation? To live a meaningful life, we have to make sacrifices. Today's times need heroes and saints. Yes, just like the candle, in order to be a light, we have to endure burning. It's not enough to live long, we have to live well. Blessed are those messages of truth passed on for generations because powerful witnessing will bear upright families. We have to be consistent in our righteous life, otherwise we cannot convince, but instead will confuse those who watch us.
This is the 1739th installment of our CFC contemplation series focusing on the daily liturgical readings.
[NOTE: Let us listen to our brother Robert Ardiente, CFC Servants of the Lord Coordinator for Southeast Asia, as he brings us today's reflection.
All the regular reflections are between 3-7 minutes long, enough time for us to ponder what God's message is for us individually and to pray that we may live them out in our lives.
