TOPIC: DO WE KNOW WHAT "GREATNESS IS IN GOD'S EYES?
First Reading: Job 1: 6-22
Responsorial Psalm: Psalms 17: 1bcd, 2-3, 6-7
Alleluia: Mark 10: 45
Gospel: Luke 9: 46-50
In our prayer time today, let us ponder on the example of St. Jerome in relation to today's gospel, who in spite of his sharp intellect, he acknowledged that his work was not for personal glory but for the greater service of God and the Church. St. Jerome realized that true greatness lies not in knowledge or fame but in humility and service. Jesus said "Whoever receives this child in my name receives me, and whoever receives me receives the one who sent me. For the one who is least among all of you is the one who is the greatest."
This is the 1618th installment of our CFC contemplation series focusing on the daily liturgical readings.
[NOTE: Let us listen to our brother Eric Villanueva, Mission Head for CFC Europe and the Americas, as he brings us today's reflection.
All the regular reflections are between 3-7 minutes long, enough time for us to ponder what God's message is for us individually and to pray that we may live them out in our lives.
