Topic: HOW SENSITIVE ARE YOU TO HEARING THE TRUTH?
First Reading: Job 38: 1, 12-21; 40: 3-5
Responsorial Psalm: Psalms 139: 1-3, 7-8, 9-10, 13-14ab
Alleluia: Psalms 95: 8
Gospel: Luke 10: 13-16
In today's Gospel reading, Jesus laments the fact that people reject the Good News because of the hardness of their hearts, despite all that He does for them. He went to the extent of rebuking the people for not recognizing Him, poising retribution to those who did not listen to those He sent. He strongly sends His "woes" to Chorazin and Bethsaida to repent. It was in these places that Jesus actively ministered. Bethsaida was the location of the feeding of the 5,000!
The truth can be painful at times and challenging to hear, just like in our opening story. When we speak our truths and live our lives in accordance to the ways and teachings of Christ, then we have chosen the better part and it cannot be taken away from us.
This is the 1622nd installment of our CFC contemplation series focusing on the daily liturgical readings.
[NOTE: Let us listen to our brother Jess Ferrer as he brings us today's reflection.
All the regular reflections are between 3-7 minutes long, enough time for us to ponder what God's message is for us individually and to pray that we may live them out in our lives.
