TOPIC: DO WE WITNESS TO OTHERS THE JOY OF THE GOSPEL AND THE HOPE OF THE RESURRECTION?

First Reading: Acts 4: 13-21
Responsorial Psalm: Psalms 118: 1 and 14-15ab, 16-18, 19-21
Alleluia: Psalms 118: 24
Gospel: Mark 16: 9-15

Do we believe the Lord Jesus is truly alive and ready to make His presence known to everyone who believes in him? The first to see the risen Lord was not Peter or one of the apostles, but a woman out of whom the Lord had driven seven demons. She had been forgiven much, and loved her Master greatly. She was first at the tomb to pay her respects. Unfortunately, the disciples would not believe her account of the Risen Master. Jesus had to scold his apostles because of their unbelief and stubborn hearts.

Are we like the apostles, slow to believe, or like Mary, quick to run to Jesus? Do we doubt because we do not see? The Lord makes His presence known to us through the work and power of the Holy Spirit. He gives us the gift of faith to know Him personally and to understand the mystery of His death and rising. Do we believe His word and do we listen to His voice?

This is the 1440th installment of our CFC contemplation series focusing on the daily liturgical readings.

[NOTE: As we continue to pray for Bro Bong Arjonillo’s healing and recovery, let us listen to our brother Solphie Confiado as he brings us today's reflection.

All the regular reflections are between 3-7 minutes long, enough time for us to ponder what God's message is for us individually and to pray that we may live them out in our lives. This video is also available on Couples for Christ’s Facebook page. In You Tube, just type ONLY BY GRACE REFLECTIONS]
