TOPIC: DO I TRUST THAT GOD CAN TURN THE LITTLE THAT I HAVE INTO ABUNDANCE?
First Reading: First John 4: 7-10
Responsorial Psalm: Psalms 72: 1-2, 3-4, 7-8
Alleluia: Luke 4: 18
Gospel: Mark 6: 34-44
Jesus took the loaves and fishes, said the blessing, broke it, and gave these to His disciples to distribute to the crowds. After which, they were all satisfied and even filled twelve wicker baskets with what was left of the food! Jesus multiplied whatever was given Him!
Pope Francis said, “Jesus is able to feed everyone… the Lord can do a lot with the little that we put at His disposal. This is how God loves to act: He does great things, starting from those small things, those freely-given ones.”.
We may feel like we have nothing, we have so little to offer, or we are insignificant next to the mission entrusted to us, but we can always trust our Lord Jesus Christ. Just as He multiplied the loaves and fishes, He can and He desires to multiply and make abundant whatever “little” we entrust to Him. He does this so that we won’t only be receivers of blessings but also channels of His blessing to many others.
This is the 1717th installment of our CFC contemplation series focusing on the daily liturgical readings.
[NOTE: Let us listen to our brother Lawrence Quintero, a member of the CFC International Council, as he brings us today's reflection.
All the regular reflections are between 3-7 minutes long, enough time for us to ponder what God's message is for us individually and to pray that we may live them out in our lives. This video is also available on Couples for Christ’s Facebook page. In You Tube, just type ONLY BY GRACE REFLECTIONS]
