TOPIC: DO YOU SEE YOURSELF BETTER THAN OTHERS?

First Reading: Isaiah 1: 10, 16-20
Responsorial Psalm: Psalms 50: 8-9, 16bc-17, 21 and 23
Verse Before the Gospel: Ezekiel 18: 31
Gospel: Matthew 23: 1-12

In this dog-eat-dog world, man's first instinct is always self-preservation. However, Scripture teaches us to humble ourselves. However, the moment we declare ourselves humble, guess what?

St. Teresa of Calcutta said, "If you are humble, nothing will touch you, neither praise nor disgrace, because you know who you are." This season of Lent, let us allow God to uncover the ugly sin of pride in our hearts. Let us ask Him to always remind us of His example when He, great as He is, was not afraid to humble Himself when He came down from heaven to redeem us.

This is the 1061st installment of our CFC contemplation series focusing on the daily liturgical readings.

[NOTE: As we continue to pray for Bro Bong Arjonillo’s healing and recovery, let us listen to our brother Eric Villanueva of CFC USA as he brings us these daily reflections.

All the regular reflections are between 3-7 minutes long, enough time for us to ponder what God's message is for us individually and to pray that we may live them out in our lives. This video is also available on Couples for Christ’s Facebook page. In You Tube, just type ONLY BY GRACE REFLECTIONS]
