WHO WOULD I LIKE TO SEE IN THE "AFTERLIFE"?
First Reading: Acts 8: 1b-8
Responsorial Psalm: Psalms 66: 1-3a, 4-5, 6-7a
Alleluia: John 6: 40
Gospel: John 6: 35-40
There is, therefore, not just an afterlife; there is actually eternal life.
This perspective makes the biggest difference. For with this, we could say that today’s reading is best heard—not just by the grieving,—but by those who believe in Jesus Christ and are struggling through the daily grind of family life, the challenges at work, and the difficulties of everyday living, as believers in Christ.
Specifically, this message is for families—who like the families in today’s first reading—are being severely persecuted and are battling attackers “entering house after house and dragging out men and women” (cf Acts 8:1b-8) to destroy families.
