Topic: In the paths that I take in life, do I seek God's ways more than my own? (8 May 2025)

First Reading: Acts 8: 26-40
Responsorial Psalm: Psalms 66: 8-9, 16-17, 20
Alleluia: John 6: 51
Gospel: John 6: 44-51

Christians are supposed to be victorious people because of the victory of our Lord Jesus Christ. But where is that wisdom, fire, and that joy of Christ’s victory in us—for many of us look more like worriers than warriors in life?

It is because we are not aware that we are possessors of the most powerful weapon we can have in warfare: the Holy Spirit of God. Hence, we are at war yet are unable to draw the weapon that we carry.

We are not being asked to escape from this world, but we have to face our daily grind with all its joys, hope, and even the sufferings. But in whom do we put our trust?
