TOPIC: ARE OUR HEARTS FILLED WITH JOY DESPITE LIFE’S DIFFICULTIES?

First Reading: Acts 18: 1-8
Responsorial Psalm: Psalms 98: 1, 2-3ab, 3cd-4
Alleluia: John 14: 18
Gospel: John 16: 16-20

Today’s Gospel reading is a continuation of last Sunday’s teaching of our Lord Jesus on the parable of the vine and the branches.

Jesus words to us today encourage us to persevere always. What seems like a thousand years of dryness is really no more than one day or even just a few hours. We do not need to pay attention to what the world is rejoicing about, for its joys are certain to pass away. We take consolation in the knowledge that before long, our grief will be turned into lasting joy. We are not orphans left in hopeless sorrow; we are sons and daughters of God who loves us with everlasting love. (cf. Jeremiah 31:3)

This is the 1473rd installment of our CFC contemplation series focusing on the daily liturgical readings.

[NOTE: As we continue to pray for Bro Bong Arjonillo’s healing and recovery, let us listen to our brother Rouquel Ponte, a member of the CFC Board of Elders, as he brings us today's reflection.

All the regular reflections are between 3-7 minutes long, enough time for us to ponder what God's message is for us individually and to pray that we may live them out in our lives. This video is also available on Couples for Christ’s Facebook page. In You Tube, just type ONLY BY GRACE REFLECTIONS]
