In today's gospel, the parable of the Fig Tree, Fr. Joel Jason invites us to reflect on fruitfulness vs productivity.

Every tree is expected to bear fruit, and we, too, are invited to fruitfulness. We do not bear fruit for ourselves but for others. We are called to live a life that is meant for others—to be a gift to them. Let us ask ourselves: Are we living only for ourselves, or are we living for others?
