The Church's relationship with people in poverty is essential. Our brothers and sisters in poverty seek love from the Church, which includes respect, acceptance, and recognition of their dignity. Providing material support is crucial, but respecting the individual's dignity is equally important.
The Church's preference for the poor is rooted in Jesus' example and teachings. Jesus, poor and humble, befriended people in poverty, shared a table with them, and denounced the causes of poverty. And poverty comes in various forms, including material and spiritual poverty, affecting migrants, refugees, minorities, and others.

Standing with the poor involves addressing the causes of poverty and exclusion, advocating for justice, and engaging in caring for the environment. Christians are called to actively participate in building a better society and defending human dignity.
The Church must learn from and prioritize the experiences of those in poverty, avoiding viewing them as mere recipients of charity. It must balance prophetic denunciation of injustice and engaging policymakers for the common good.
Providing services without discrimination, promoting solidarity among different regions, and ensuring transparent management of resources are crucial aspects of the Church's mission.
The Church should promote awareness of its social doctrine, integrate service to the poor into its formation programs, and emphasize care for the environment in its teachings and practices.
