BE WISE WHILE WAITING | The Word Exposed with Cardinal Tagle (November 8, 2026) with Sign Language
We are on the Thirty-second Sunday in Ordinary Time; and in today’s gospel, we hear the parable of the wise and foolish virgins who are anticipating the arrival of the bridegroom. What can we learn from them about preparing for the Kingdom of God?

Jesus tells us: “The foolish ones, when taking their lamps, brought no oil with them, but the wise brought flasks of oil with their lamps.” It turns out that the arrival of the bridegroom got delayed and “the foolish ones” ran out of oil. They missed the wedding feast.
Friends, how are we preparing for the coming of the bridegroom? Do we bring enough oil? The Lord says in the gospel: “[S]tay awake, for you know neither the day nor the hour.” Prepare well so that whenever the Bridegroom comes we can enter into his feast.
