Devotional Message:
(Luke 19:40)
"I tell you...if they keep quiet, the stones will cry out."

Observation:

In Luke 19, we see a joyful and powerful moment. Jesus is entering Jerusalem, riding on a donkey, and the people are praising Him with all their hearts. They are shouting, “Blessed is the King who comes in the name of the Lord!” The whole scene is full of energy, worship, and praise.

But then, some of the Pharisees tell Jesus to quiet His disciples. They don’t like the noise. They don’t want to see people getting excited about Jesus. They want everyone to calm down, to keep it quiet.

And what does Jesus say? He says something unforgettable: “If they keep quiet, the stones will cry out.”

That’s a strong statement. It means this: Jesus is so worthy of praise, so powerful, so holy, so full of love and truth, that even if people refuse to worship Him, creation itself will speak up. Even the rocks—those silent, hard, lifeless things—will find a voice.

Let that sink in. Stones don’t talk. Stones don’t sing. But Jesus is saying that if no one praises Him, creation itself will rise up and make His name known.

Application:

This brings us to our theme: “Bluestone Church Bells.” Imagine old church bells made from bluestone—silent for years, maybe cracked, forgotten, covered in dust. But one day, they start to ring again. Not because someone pulled a rope, but because the glory of God is too great to ignore.

You see, sometimes we become like silent stones. We stop praising. We get distracted, discouraged, tired. We keep quiet about our faith. We hide our light. We forget the sound of worship in our own hearts. And slowly, the music of our souls fades into silence.

But friends, don’t let the stones do your praising.

God gave you a voice. Not just for talking—but for thanking, singing, sharing, and lifting His name high.
