Devotional Message:
(Romans 15:4)
For everything that was written in the past was written to teach us, so that through the endurance taught in the Scriptures and the encouragement they provide we might have hope.

Many of the problems that we face can be overcome by endurance and encouragement. Most emotions and obsessive thoughts have an ebb and flow to them. If we use the word of God and endure, we can get to the other side. And what our endurance might not remedy, the encouragement of God through His word can. How? By giving us hope. Hope is the ultimate encourager. Hope gives us the capacity to endure. Today, come to God’s word. Let Him speak to you. Spend time reading, praying and then follow the examples of endurance and God will encourage your heart, giving you hope.

Hope, endurance and encouragement doesn’t come naturally. It takes focus and awareness of what is going on in our heart. It takes repentance and renewal. It takes time in His word.

Prayer:
Holy Spirit, You are the Holy teacher and I ask that You would open my eyes that I might see the deep spiritual truths of Scriptures. Help me endure. Encourage my heart and give me hope. I pray in Jesus’ name. Amen.
