Devotional Message:
(Isaiah 53:5)
"By His wounds we are healed."

Observation:
When we read Isaiah 53:5, we see a powerful picture of what Jesus did for us. This verse was written hundreds of years before Jesus came to earth, yet it describes His suffering so clearly. It tells us that Jesus was pierced—not for His own sin, but for ours. He was crushed—again, not because He did something wrong, but because we did. Every strike, every wound, every drop of blood—He took all of it so that we could be made whole.

This is what we call substitution—Jesus took our place. We deserved the punishment, but He accepted it for us. And the amazing part? He did it willingly because of His deep love for us.

The last part of the verse says, “by His wounds, we are healed.” This is not just physical healing. Yes, God still heals sickness today, and we should believe Him for that. But this verse goes deeper. It’s talking about spiritual and emotional healing—healing from guilt, shame, brokenness, rejection, and even past mistakes. It's the kind of healing that fixes what's broken inside us—the things no medicine can reach.

Application:
Sometimes, we focus only on what we see on the outside. We want God to fix our problems: our finances, our health, our relationships. And yes, He cares about all of those. But today, I want you to think about what needs deeper healing in your life. Maybe it’s a broken heart from years ago. Maybe it’s a sin you can’t seem to overcome. Maybe it's the feeling that you're not good enough, not lovable, or not worthy.

Jesus didn’t come just to make us feel better temporarily. He came to restore us completely. His wounds didn't just buy us a ticket to heaven—they gave us peace today. A quiet heart. A clean conscience. A new identity. That’s what deeper healing looks like.

But we must come to Him honestly. We have to say, “Lord, this is where I hurt. This is where I’m
