Devotional Message:
(Psalm 95:4)
"In his hand are the depths of the earth."

Observation:
Psalm 95:4 is a short verse, but it carries a deep and powerful truth. It tells us that God holds the depths of the earth, and even the mountain peaks belong to Him. In other words, God is the Creator and Owner of all creation. From the lowest, darkest places of the earth, like caves deep underground or the deep sea, to the highest mountain tops that touch the clouds—God’s hands made them and hold them.

Take a moment to really imagine that. The same God who spoke the universe into existence, who painted the skies and filled the oceans, who formed the mountains and spread out the stars—He holds it all in His hands. This is not just about physical places. The "depths of the earth" can also represent the hard, dark places in life. And the "mountain peaks" can represent the good moments, the victories, and the times we feel close to God. And the verse tells us that God is present in both.

This shows us something amazing about God: He is not limited by space, by size, or by time. He is the Creator, yes—but He is also the Sustainer. What He created, He continues to care for. His hands didn’t just shape the world long ago—they are still holding it now.

Application:
So what does this mean for us today? Why should we care that God holds the depths and owns the peaks?

Because in life, we all go through highs and lows. We all have “mountain top” moments—times when we feel happy, strong, successful, and full of hope. And we also go through “valley” seasons—times of sadness, struggle, confusion, or loss. What this verse reminds us is this: God is present in both places. You are not alone in the valley. And you are not climbing the mountain by yourself either.
