Devotional Message:
(Proverbs 18:8)
"The words of a gossip are like choice morsels."

Have you ever noticed how a dog wags its tail?
Most of the time, it’s a happy sight. A dog’s wagging tail shows it’s excited to see you, or that it’s feeling playful.
But sometimes, a wagging tail can also mean nervousness, fear, or even hidden aggression.
In other words, you can’t always trust a wagging tail just like you can’t always trust everything you hear spoken by others.

The Bible compares gossip to "choice morsels" — like sweet, delicious food.
At first, it feels good to hear it. It feels interesting, exciting even.
But Proverbs 18:8 warns us that gossip doesn’t stay on the surface.
It goes deep inside us — into our thoughts, into our hearts — and slowly poisons our attitudes and relationships.

Short Story: The Feather Pillow

There’s a story about a girl named Anna who loved to share little secrets about others.
One day, her teacher noticed the damage caused by Anna’s words. So she gave her a task.

"Anna," she said, "take this feather pillow to the top of the hill. Cut it open, and shake all the feathers out into the wind."

Anna thought it was a silly task, but she did it. The wind quickly carried the feathers everywhere — across the fields, over fences, and into the trees.

When Anna came back, the teacher smiled and said,
"Now, go gather every single feather you let go."

Anna looked at her in shock.
"But that’s impossible! They're everywhere!" she cried.

The teacher nodded wisely and said,
"Exactly. That’s what happens when you speak words you shouldn't. Once gossip leaves your mouth, you can never gather all the damage it causes."

Deep Observation:

Gossip works the same way.
It may seem small — just one sentence, just one juicy detail — but it spreads far and wide.
