Devotional Message:
(Romans 6:4)
"We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life."

Romans 6:4 tells us that our old life—the one dominated by sin and separation from God—has been put to death. Just as Jesus was buried and then raised to life, we too have experienced a burial of sorts. Our baptism represents this. It’s as if our old selves were buried with Christ, laid to rest in a symbolic grave.

But the verse doesn’t stop there. It speaks of a resurrection, a new beginning. Just as Christ was raised from the dead, we are also raised to a new life. This new life isn’t just a continuation of the old one with a few improvements. It’s a completely new existence, marked by the power and glory of God. It’s a life no longer ruled by the old patterns of sin and failure, but one that is characterized by the presence and power of God working in and through us.

This new life is not something we can achieve on our own. It’s the work of God in us, transforming us from the inside out. It’s a daily process, where we continually put aside the old ways and embrace the new life Christ offers. This means our thoughts, actions, and desires begin to reflect the character of Christ more and more each day.

Application:

So, how do we live out this new life in practical terms? First, it starts with a daily decision to recognize that our old life is gone. We don’t need to be enslaved to the habits and sins that once held us captive. When we wake up each morning, we can remind ourselves that we are new creations in Christ, free from the power of sin.

This mindset changes how we approach our day. Instead of feeling defeated by our past mistakes or overwhelmed by our current struggles, we can step into each moment with the confidence that God is
