Devotional Message:
(Romans 10:9-10)
"If you declare with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord,’ and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved."

In Romans 10:9-10, the Apostle Paul shares a message that is both powerful and simple. He tells us that salvation, the gift of being saved and restored to a right relationship with God, comes through two key actions: confessing and believing. Confessing with our mouths that Jesus is Lord means openly acknowledging that Jesus is the master and ruler of our lives. It’s not just about saying words, but about a deep commitment in our hearts to follow Jesus.

Believing in our hearts that God raised Jesus from the dead is equally crucial. This belief is not just an intellectual agreement, but a trust that God’s power, which raised Jesus from the dead, is also at work in us. This belief brings justification—God’s declaration that we are righteous and free from the penalty of sin.

Paul is emphasizing that salvation isn’t about doing a list of religious activities; it’s about a genuine faith that transforms our hearts and is expressed through our words. This message breaks down barriers and invites everyone, regardless of background or past, to receive God’s grace simply through faith.

Application:

Let’s think about how this applies to our daily lives. Sometimes we might feel like we need to do more to earn God’s love or approval. We might think that if we attend church more, pray harder, or read more of the Bible, we will be closer to God. While these actions are important for our spiritual growth, Paul reminds us that the foundation of our relationship with God is not about our works—it’s about faith.

Every day, we have the opportunity to
