Devotional Message:
(Romans 1:17)
"For in the gospel the righteousness of God is revealed—a righteousness that is by faith from first to last, just as it is written: 'The righteous will live by faith.'"

This verse reminds us that faith is the foundation of our relationship with God. The gospel, or the good news about Jesus, shows us how we can be made right with God. It’s not about our efforts or good deeds, but about trusting in Jesus and having faith in Him. This faith starts when we first believe and continues throughout our lives. We live by faith every day, relying on God’s guidance and strength.

Paul then talks about the consequences of ignoring God. In verses 18-20, he says that God’s anger is revealed against those who suppress the truth. God has made Himself known through creation, so people have no excuse for not acknowledging Him. When we look at the beauty of the world, the stars, the mountains, and the oceans, we see evidence of God’s power and creativity. Ignoring this truth leads to a dark path.

In verses 21-23, Paul explains that although people knew God, they didn’t honor Him or give thanks. Instead, they became foolish in their thinking and their hearts were darkened. They exchanged the glory of God for images resembling humans and animals. When we don’t honor God, we turn to other things—idols that can’t satisfy us. These idols can be money, success, or even relationships. But they can never replace the true joy that comes from knowing God.

Verses 24-25 describe how God allowed people to follow their sinful desires. They exchanged the truth of God for a lie and worshiped created things rather than the Creator. This is a powerful warning for us. When we turn away from God, we end up worshiping things that can never fulfill us.
