"Then all the disciples deserted him and fled."

In Matthew 26:31-57, Jesus foretells his disciples that they will abandon him when challenging times arrive, which later happens during his arrest. Jesus prays to God, questioning if there's another way, but ultimately submits to God's will. Judas, one of Jesus' disciples, betrays him with a kiss, leading to his arrest. Jesus remains peaceful and holds his purpose even in the face of opposition.

Today, I want to share an uplifting devotional message with you, one that connects to an important verse from the Gospel of Matthew, chapter 26, verse 56. In this verse, we find Jesus facing a moment of immense trial and hardship.

Despite being betrayed, abandoned, and facing incredible suffering, Jesus said, "But all this has taken place, so that the Scriptures of the prophets may be fulfilled." These simple yet profound words remind us that Jesus willingly embraced His hardships, fully aware that they were part of God's plan for our redemption.

In our own lives, we often face difficult times: moments of uncertainty, pain, and feeling deserted by those we love. We may question why we have to endure such trials. However, just as Jesus trusted in God's plan, we too can find comfort in the knowledge that everything happens for a reason, even if we can't see it yet.

During these challenging moments, it's crucial to remember that God is always with us, even when it feels like we are all alone. In Matthew 28:20, Jesus assures us, "And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age." He is our constant companion, our rock, and our refuge.
