Devotional Message:
(Joshua 1:9)
"Do not be afraid, do not be dismayed, for the LORD your God be with you wherever you go."

Observation
Joshua 1:9 is a powerful reminder of God's faithfulness and presence. When Joshua was tasked with leading the Israelites into the Promised Land after Moses' death, he faced an overwhelming challenge. Imagine his feelings—fear of failure, uncertainty about the future, and doubt about whether he could handle such a huge responsibility. God didn’t just give Joshua instructions; He gave him a promise—a promise of His unwavering presence and support.

The words “be strong and courageous” were not just encouragements; they were commands. Why? Because God knew that Joshua’s strength and courage didn’t need to come from his own ability but from trusting in God's power. God reassured Joshua that no matter what obstacles lay ahead, He would never leave him or forsake him. This truth was not only for Joshua but is also for us today.

Application
There are moments in life when we feel like Joshua—overwhelmed, scared, and unsure of what to do. Perhaps you’re facing a difficult decision, a financial struggle, a broken relationship, or a personal failure. It’s easy to feel alone during these times, as if the weight of the world is on your shoulders. But Joshua 1:9 reminds us that we are never alone.

God is with you in every challenge. When you feel weak, He is your strength. When you feel scared, He gives courage. When you feel like giving up, He renews your hope. Just as He walked with Joshua into unknown territory, He walks with you through the uncertainties of life.

We often look at our circumstances and feel discouraged because we don’t know how everything will work out. But this verse teaches us that God doesn’t ask us to figure everything out; He asks us to trust Him. Courage is not the absence of fear—it’s moving forward even when you’re afraid because you know God is by your side.

So, when you face trials, remember this: you are not forsaken. God’s promise to Joshua is also His promise to you. He goes before you to make a way, stands beside you to guide you, and surrounds you with His love and protection. Trust Him, even when the road is tough.

Are you facing something today that makes you feel afraid or uncertain? How can you rely on God’s promise to never leave you?

What step of faith can you take today to show courage, knowing that God is with you?

Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You for Your promise to never leave us nor forsake us. Help us to be strong and courageous, trusting in Your power and presence in our lives. When we feel afraid, remind us that You are with us wherever we go. May Your love give us the courage to face any challenge with faith. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.
