FINDING STRENGTH in Awareness
READ: Matthew 15:29-16:12

(Matthew 16:5-6)
"When they went across the lake, the disciples forgot to take bread. 'Be careful,' Jesus said to them. 'Be on your guard against the yeast of the Pharisees and Sadducees.'"

CHAPTER SUMMARY:
In Matthew 15:29-16:12, Jesus performs miracles by healing the sick and feeding thousands of people. Despite witnessing these incredible events, some religious leaders still question his authority and seek signs from him. Jesus warns his disciples about the teachings of the religious leaders and reminds them to focus on the true message of faith. He uses metaphors, like leaven and yeast, to illustrate how a little bit of wrong teaching can influence and corrupt the whole. Jesus encourages his disciples to have faith in him and not be swayed by the doubts or skepticism of others.

DEVOTIONAL REFLECTION:
Today, I want to share an encouraging devotional message with you, inspired by Matthew 16:5-6. In these verses, Jesus teaches us a powerful lesson that we can apply to our lives. Let's take a moment to reflect on these words and find strength in them.

Jesus said to His disciples, "When they went across the lake, the disciples forgot to take bread. 'Be careful,' Jesus said to them. 'Be on your guard against the yeast of the Pharisees and Sadducees.'"

In these simple but profound words, Jesus reminds us to be cautious and vigilant in our daily lives. Just as the disciples forgot to bring bread, we may often forget important things or lose sight of what truly matters. But Jesus reassures us by pointing out the yeast of the Pharisees and Sadducees – a symbol of their corrupted teachings and hypocrisy.

In our own lives, it's crucial to stay aware and discerning.
