Verse of the Day: Luke 15:6

Devotional Message:
(Luke 15:6)
"Rejoice with me; I have found my lost sheep."

Observation:
Jesus tells this parable to help us understand God's immense love for us. In this story, the shepherd has 100 sheep, but when one goes missing, he doesn’t just shrug it off. He doesn’t say, "I still have 99, so losing one isn’t a big deal." Instead, he leaves the 99 and goes on a search for that one lost sheep. He climbs hills, crosses rivers, and searches tirelessly until he finds it. Once he does, he carries the sheep back joyfully on his shoulders.

This shepherd shows us what God's heart is like. Each of us is precious to Him, and He will go to great lengths to bring us back when we wander away. No one is too small, too far, or too lost for God’s love. The rejoicing isn’t just personal; the shepherd calls his friends and neighbors to celebrate with him. This reveals something incredible: heaven celebrates when one sinner repents and is found by God.

Application:
There are moments in life when we may feel lost—lost in our struggles, lost in our sin, or even lost in our purpose. At times, we may think, "Does God still care about me?" But this parable reminds us that God never stops searching for us. His love is relentless and personal. Even when we feel unworthy, God is calling us back to Him.

Think about the people around you. Is there someone who might feel lost right now? It could be a family member, a friend, or even a stranger. How can you show them the same love and care that the shepherd displayed? Sometimes, just reaching out, listening, or offering encouragement can help someone feel "found" again.

At the same time, this story challenges us to celebrate others’ journeys back to God. It’s easy to focus on ourselves, but Jesus shows us the importance of rejoicing with others. Let’s not forget to be part of the celebration when someone turns their heart to God.

Lastly, remember that when you feel lost, you’re never alone. God is searching for you, calling you by name, ready to carry you back on His shoulders. He doesn’t just bring you back; He rejoices over you.

Prayer:
Lord Jesus, thank You for never giving up on us, even when we wander away. Help us to see others the way You do, with love and compassion. Teach us to rejoice when someone finds their way back to You. When we feel lost, remind us of Your love and guide us back to Your arms. Amen.
