"SEEKING THE SUN"

(Psalm 119:89)
"Your word, LORD, is eternal; it stands firm in the heavens."

Observation
Have you ever watched the sun rise early in the morning? It climbs over the horizon and fills the sky with light, chasing away the darkness. No matter where you are, you can always count on the sun to rise each day. It’s steady, dependable, and unchanging. In the same way, God’s Word is like the sun—it never changes, it is eternal, and it lights up our lives when we allow it to.

Psalm 119:89 reminds us that God’s Word is firmly established in heaven. It is not temporary or subject to change. What God says is true and remains true forever. In a world where opinions shift, trends fade, and even promises from people are broken, God’s Word stands firm. Just as the sun doesn’t fail to rise, His Word doesn’t fail to guide and sustain us.

When we rely on God’s Word, we find stability. It helps us navigate life’s uncertainties, much like how sunlight helps us see where we’re going. God’s promises give us hope when we’re struggling, and His commands keep us on the right path when we feel lost. His Word is the one constant we can hold on to when everything else seems to change.

Application
How do we “seek the sun” of God’s Word in our lives? The answer is simple but requires intentional effort: we must make time to read, meditate on, and apply the Bible. Just as we adjust our schedules to enjoy a sunrise or seek warmth on a cold day, we need to adjust our priorities to seek God’s Word every day.
