Devotional Message:
(Isaiah 43:19)
"I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland."

Observation:
This verse is a powerful reminder of God’s ability to bring newness and hope even in the most impossible situations. In Isaiah’s time, the Israelites faced hardships and exile. They felt abandoned and unsure about their future. Yet, through Isaiah, God assured them that He was working on something new—a restoration far beyond their imagination. He promised to make a way through the wilderness, a place that symbolizes difficulty and confusion, and to bring streams in the wasteland, a place of dryness and despair.

God’s work is not limited by the conditions around us. He sees possibilities where we see dead ends. He is not bound by the past or the present; His plans are always forward-looking. This verse invites us to open our eyes and hearts to see the new things God is doing, even when they don’t align with our expectations.

Application:
In our lives, we often feel stuck in a "wilderness" or "wasteland." It could be a season of financial difficulty, a broken relationship, a health challenge, or simply feeling lost and purposeless. In these moments, we are tempted to focus on what has gone wrong and lose sight of the hope God offers.

But God is asking us to have a "new vision." He wants us to shift our focus from the problems to the promises He has for us. What does this look like in practice?

1. Let Go of the Past: Sometimes, our inability to see the new things God is doing comes from clinging to what is behind us. We hold onto past mistakes, regrets, or even old successes that limit us from stepping into the new. Ask yourself: Is there something I need to release so I can embrace God’s new work in my life?
