(Matthew 8:21-22)
"Another disciple said to him, 'Lord, first let me go and bury my father.' But Jesus told him, 'Follow me, and let the dead bury their own dead.'"

In Matthew 5:21-48, Jesus emphasizes the importance of inner righteousness and a transformed heart in relation to the teachings of the law. He goes beyond the external actions and looks at the intentions and attitudes behind them. Jesus teaches that anger, lust, and revenge are harmful and should be replaced with love, forgiveness, and peace.
