Devotional Message:
(1 Corinthians 3:7)
"So neither the one who plants nor the one who waters is anything, but only God, who makes things grow."
This verse teaches us an important lesson about our role in God’s work and His ultimate control over all growth and success.
1. The Seed and the Water
Imagine a farmer planting seeds in the soil. He carefully places each seed and then waters them daily. However, despite his efforts, the actual growth of the plant is beyond his control. He can't make the seed sprout or the plant grow taller. He can only provide the right conditions.
2. Our Efforts Matter, But...
In our lives, we often find ourselves planting seeds of kindness, hard work, and faith. We may water these seeds with love, prayer, and persistence. Yet, just like the farmer, we must understand that the real growth comes from God.
This doesn’t mean our efforts are pointless. On the contrary, planting and watering are essential. But we must remember that these actions are part of a bigger picture. God is the one who makes things grow.
3. Humility in Our Work
This verse reminds us to stay humble. No matter how skilled or hardworking we are, the outcomes are in God's hands. It's easy to feel proud of our achievements, but this scripture encourages us to give glory to God, recognizing that without Him, growth wouldn't happen.
