Devotional Message:
(Mark 1:38)
But Jesus replied, “We must go on to other towns as well, and I will preach to them, too. That is why I came.”

Have you ever wondered "why am I here?". We all ask ourselves this at some point in our lives or possibly at various times throughout our lives. We want, even need, to believe we're on this earth for a reason. I know I want to believe I'm making a difference in this world.

In today's verse, Jesus leads his disciples to new areas to share the good news. Jesus says to them and to us, "That's why I've come." Jesus knew he was sent to share the life-changing good news of God's love to a broken world. He introduced the world to a kingdom reality where love, justice, forgiveness, and peace reign.

Jesus' last recorded words on earth give us purpose. We are to make disciples, followers, of Christ as we live out the good news each day loving neighbors, forgiving enemies, and standing up for justice. We might be nurse, fathers, teachers, pastors, mothers, engineers, or students, but our purpose is the same – share God's love with the world. You will make a difference.
