Daily Bread Devotional:
Devotional Topic: "THE LONG NAME"
Verse of the Day: Exodus6:1
Devotional Message:
(Exodus6:1)
Then the LORD said to Moses, "Now you will see what I will do to Pharaoh."
🔍 Observation: The God Who Never Forgets His Power
In Exodus 6:1, God spoke to Moses when everything seemed to be falling apart.
Moses had obeyed God, but instead of life getting better, Pharaoh made things worse. The people complained. Moses was confused. But God didn’t explain everything—He just said, “Now you will see what I will do.”
Sometimes, before God acts, He reminds us who He is.
He told Moses, “I am the LORD.” In the verses after, God reminds Moses of His name—His unchanging identity. It’s like He was saying,
|| “I’m not done. I’ve made a promise. And I always keep My name.”
God’s name is not like ours.
We forget. We fail. But His name means He’s eternal, powerful, and faithful.
🛠 Simple Application: Trusting God's Name When Life Gets Hard
Let’s make this simple. Here are three ways we can apply this message:
1. When life gets harder even after you pray—don’t give up
Like Moses, sometimes we obey God and things get worse first. But that doesn't mean He forgot you. It means He's preparing something big.
📌 Just like Pedro, don’t panic—pause and remember: God has a plan.
2. Remember God’s name when you feel afraid
Names like Jehovah Jireh (My Provider) or El Olam (Everlasting God) remind us of who He is. Say His name out loud when you're anxious.
📌 When you're broke, say: “God, You’re my provider.”
When you're tired, say: “God, You’re my strength.”
3. Ask God to show you His name in your situation
You may be seeing problems—but God is revealing His power.
📌 Instead of asking “Why is this happening?” ask, “Lord, who do You want to be for me right now?”
💬 Encouragement
Maybe you’re tired like Pedro. Or confused like Moses. Maybe you don’t see answers yet.
But don’t forget: God always shows who He is before He shows what He can do.
Even when life feels stuck—God’s name is still working.
You don’t need to understand everything. Just trust His name. His name is long because His power reaches far.
He is not done with your story. He is about to show you what He will do.
Prayer:
Lord, thank You that Your name is stronger than our problems. Help us trust You even when we don’t see results yet. Remind us that You are still working. Amen.
