Devotional Message:
(Hebrews 10:39)
"We do not belong to those sho shrink back... but to those who have faith and are saved."
🔍 Observation: Shrinking Is Subtle, But Faith Is Stubborn
The verse in Hebrews speaks to people who were tired, hurting, and afraid. They had believed in Jesus, but following Him cost them everything—friendships, family, safety, reputation. Many were tempted to turn back to their old ways. Some were already doing it.
This verse is like a wake-up call, a reminder:
|| "You're not like them. You are not the ones who give up. You are the ones who stand firm. You are not lost. You are saved."
Even now, in our modern lives, the pressures are real:
You get ghosted by the person you trusted.
You lose your job without warning.
You scroll through social media and feel like you're being left behind.
You ask God for answers but hear nothing back.
In these moments, it’s so easy to shrink back.
To stop praying.
To stop believing.
To stop hoping.
To go back to the old habits that felt “easier.”
But this verse says: “That’s not who you are.”
Faith isn’t about always feeling strong.
It’s about refusing to stop walking—even when your legs are trembling.
🛠 Application: How to Move Forward When You Want to Shrink Back
Let’s be honest. Shrinking doesn’t always look dramatic. Sometimes it’s very quiet.
But so is real faith. Here’s how to live it out daily:
1. Feel the Fear, But Walk Anyway
Courage isn’t the absence of fear—it’s moving despite it. You can be scared and still trust God.
Example: Jared was heartbroken, but when he opened his Bible again, even in pain, that was a step of faith.
📌 Ask yourself:
|| “Am I letting fear make my decisions?”
“Or am I still giving God a chance to move?”
2. Watch for the Signs of Shrinking
Sometimes you don’t notice you’re drifting away until you’re deep in the dark.
Watch out for signs like:
