Devotional Message:
(Luke 20:17)
"Jesus looked directly at them and asked, 'Then what is the meaning of that which is written: "The stone the builders rejected has become the cornerstone"?'"

In this verse, Jesus uses a powerful image to explain His role in God's plan. A cornerstone is the first stone set in the construction of a building. It determines the position of all the other stones and holds the structure together. Without a solid cornerstone, the entire building could be unstable.

Jesus was speaking to religious leaders who were rejecting Him and His teachings. They were like builders who didn't recognize the most important stone. Jesus is saying that even though He was rejected by many, He is essential to everything God is building.

What can we learn from this? Sometimes, what the world rejects is exactly what we need the most. Jesus, who was rejected and crucified, became the foundation of our faith. This teaches us that God can take what seems like a failure and turn it into something foundational and transformative.

In our lives, we might face rejection or feel overlooked. But we can take comfort in knowing that Jesus understands our experiences. He was rejected, yet He became the cornerstone. We should remember that God has a plan for us, even when others don't see our worth.

Let’s think about our lives. Are there areas where we feel like we are not valued? Are there talents or aspects of our character that others have overlooked? Remember, just as Jesus became the cornerstone despite being rejected, God can use those parts of us to build something great.

Also, are there times when we reject others or ourselves because we don’t see immediate value? Let's challenge ourselves to look at people and situations through God's eyes, recognizing that His plans might be different from ours.
