(Luke 11:9)
"So I say to you: Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you."

In this verse, Jesus teaches us about the importance of persistence in prayer. He encourages us to ask, seek, and knock. These actions—asking, seeking, and knocking—are not just one-time efforts. They suggest continuous, determined actions.

Ask and It Will Be Given to You

When Jesus says, "Ask and it will be given to you," He is inviting us to bring our requests to God. Think about how a child asks their parents for something they need. They are straightforward and honest about their needs. Similarly, we should come to God with our requests. This doesn’t mean God will give us everything we ask for immediately, but it does mean He is listening and will provide what we truly need.

Seek and You Will Find

Next, Jesus tells us to seek, and we will find. Seeking implies effort and intentionality. It's not just about asking; it’s about actively searching for God’s will and wisdom. Imagine looking for something valuable, like a lost treasure. You wouldn’t give up after a few minutes; you’d keep searching diligently. In our spiritual lives, we should seek God’s presence, wisdom, and guidance with the same diligence. When we seek Him wholeheartedly, we will find Him and gain a deeper understanding of His plans for us.

Knock and the Door Will Be Opened to You

Finally, Jesus encourages us to knock, and the door will be opened. Knocking requires action. It's about making a move, taking a step of faith.
