Devotional Message:
(Luke 12:15)
"Then he said to them, 'Watch out! Be on your guard against all kinds of greed; life does not consist in an abundance of possessions.'"

In our world today, it’s easy to get caught up in the pursuit of more – more money, more possessions, more success. Advertisements constantly tell us that we need the latest gadgets, the newest clothes, and the biggest houses to be happy. Social media can make us feel like we need to keep up with everyone else's lives, which often seem perfect and full of luxury.

But Jesus tells us something different. He warns us to "watch out" and be "on guard" against all kinds of greed. This means we need to be careful not to let our desire for more take over our lives. Greed can sneak into our hearts and minds in subtle ways, making us believe that our worth and happiness come from what we own.

However, Jesus reminds us that life is not about having a lot of stuff. True life, the kind that brings real joy and peace, doesn't come from material possessions. Instead, it comes from our relationships with God and with others, from love, kindness, and the good we do in the world.

Let's think about this in a practical way. Imagine a person who spends all their time and energy working to buy a bigger house or a nicer car. They might achieve their goal, but at what cost? They might miss out on time with their family, opportunities to help others, or moments to enjoy the simple pleasures in life. In the end, the possessions they acquire can't bring them true happiness or fulfillment.

On the other hand, consider someone who focuses on building meaningful relationships, helping those in need, and living with gratitude and contentment.
