Devotional Message:
(James 1:19-20)
"My dear brothers and sisters, take note of this: Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry, because human anger does not produce the righteousness that God desires."

Short Story:
There was a man named Carlos who owned a colorful jeepney. On the back of his jeepney, he placed a sticker that said, “How’s my driving? Call this number.” Most drivers put those stickers because companies want to make sure their drivers are careful on the road. But Carlos had a deeper reason—he said the sticker reminded him every day that people were watching how he acted, not just how he drove.

One day, a stranger actually called the number—not to complain, but to give a compliment. The caller said, “Your driver is very patient and polite. Even when the traffic was heavy, and other drivers were cutting him off, he never shouted, argued, or got angry. He just smiled and let others pass.” When Carlos heard this, he was thankful. He said, “I remember that my behavior is my testimony. Even if I don’t speak about my faith every minute, people can see it in how I treat others.”

Observation (Explanation):
The Bible verse in James tells us something very important. James writes to the church and says: Be quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to become angry. Why is this advice so powerful? Because our words and emotions can either build people up or tear them down. James reminds us that when we get angry quickly or speak carelessly, it does not produce the righteousness, the goodness, that God wants from His people.

Let’s think of life like a journey on the road. We’re not just sitting at home quietly; every day we "drive" through situations. Some roads are smooth—everything goes well. Some roads are rough—things go wrong, people frustrate us, and we get tested. When that happens, how’s our driving? Do we lose control easily?
