Devotional Message:

(Luke 1:18)
"Zechariah asked the angel, 'How can I be sure of this? I am an old man and my wife is well along in years.'"

In this verse, we meet Zechariah, an old man who finds it hard to believe what the angel Gabriel tells him about his wife Elizabeth having a son. Zechariah's response teaches us something important about faith and doubt.

Like Zechariah, we often doubt things that seem impossible or too good to be true. Maybe it's a dream or a promise we've been waiting for, but when it finally seems within reach, we hesitate. We question if it's really going to happen, just like Zechariah did.

But here's the beautiful part: God understands our doubts. He doesn't condemn us for them. Instead, He gently reminds us of His faithfulness and His power to fulfill His promises.

When we doubt, we can turn to God in prayer, just as Zechariah did. We can tell Him about our fears and uncertainties. And like Zechariah, we can receive reassurance from God's word and His presence in our lives.

God's timing may not always align with ours, and His ways may be beyond our understanding. But in our doubts, we can choose to trust Him. We can choose to believe that He is faithful to His word, just as He was faithful to Zechariah and Elizabeth.

So, let's take a lesson from Zechariah's story. When doubts creep in, let's not let them overshadow our faith. Instead, let's hold on to God's promises with confidence, knowing that He is always true to His word and His plans for us are good.

Today, let's pray for the strength to trust God wholeheartedly, even when doubts arise. Let's remember that with God, nothing is impossible, and His promises are always worth believing in.

Lord, help us trust in Your promises, even when doubt fills our hearts. Amen.
