Devotional Message:
(1 Thessalonians 2:11)
"We dealt with each of you as a father deals with his own children."

Story:
There was once a humble farmer named Mang Pedro who lived in a small village surrounded by fields. Mang Pedro was not the richest or the most famous man, but everyone respected him. Why? Because he cared deeply for the people around him.

Every planting season, the younger farmers, fresh and full of energy but lacking experience, would come to Mang Pedro for help. He never turned anyone away. Instead of simply telling them what to do from a distance, Mang Pedro would roll up his sleeves, walk alongside them, and show them how to till the soil, plant the seeds, and care for the crops.

He never shouted. He never looked down on them even when they made mistakes. He corrected them gently, encouraged them when they felt like giving up, and celebrated even their small successes. Over time, these young farmers became wise and skilled—not just because they learned techniques—but because they learned the heart of loving leadership from Mang Pedro. They, too, grew up to help others with the same kindness and patience he had shown.

Mang Pedro’s life reminds us: true leadership is not about commanding respect but earning it through love, patience, and personal sacrifice.

Observation:
When we read 1 Thessalonians 2:11, we see Paul reminding the believers of how he and his team treated them—with the same care and love that a father gives to his children. Think about it: a father who truly loves his child doesn't lead with harshness. He leads with care, understanding, correction when needed, and endless encouragement.

Paul could have acted like a strict boss because he was an apostle, someone with great authority. But he chose to act more like a gentle father. He knew that people don’t grow just because they are pressured. They grow best when they are
