Devotional Message:
(Luke 2:40)
"And the child grew and became strong; he was filled with wisdom, and the grace of God was on him."

What can we learn from this simple yet profound statement? Let’s break it down into three key parts.

1. Growth:

The verse begins with "the child grew." Growth is a natural part of life. Just like Jesus grew physically, we are also meant to grow in various ways—spiritually, emotionally, and mentally. Growth takes time and effort. For us, it means developing our faith through regular prayer, reading the Bible, and spending time with other believers. It’s important to ask ourselves: How am I growing in my faith? Am I taking steps to deepen my relationship with God?

2. Strength:

Next, it says Jesus "became strong." This isn’t just about physical strength. It’s also about inner strength. For Jesus, growing up in a world full of challenges, strength was necessary. Similarly, we need strength to face our daily struggles, whether they are personal, professional, or spiritual. God provides us with the strength we need. Philippians 4:13 reminds us, "I can do all this through him who gives me strength." Are we relying on God to give us strength when we feel weak?

3. Wisdom and Grace:

Finally, the verse tells us Jesus was "filled with wisdom, and the grace of God was on him." Wisdom is more than knowledge. It’s the ability to make good decisions based on understanding and insight. We gain wisdom by seeking God’s guidance in our lives. James 1:5 says, "If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you."

Grace is God’s favor and kindness that we don’t earn but receive as a gift. Just as Jesus had God’s grace, we too are recipients of this amazing grace. It means we are loved and accepted by God, no matter what our past or present mistakes.
