Devotional Message:
(Luke 5:10)
"Then Jesus said to Simon, 'Don't be afraid; from now on you will fish for people.'"

Imagine the scene: Simon Peter and his fellow fishermen had been working hard all night without catching anything. They were tired and probably discouraged. Then Jesus showed up and told them to cast their nets again. To their amazement, they caught so many fish that their nets began to break. It was in this moment of overwhelming success that Jesus spoke these words to Simon.

Jesus’ message to Peter is also a message for us today. “Don’t be afraid.” Often, we let fear hold us back from what God is calling us to do. Fear of failure, fear of rejection, or fear of stepping into the unknown can paralyze us. But Jesus reassures us, just as He did to Peter. We are not alone; He is with us.

Jesus also gives Peter a new purpose: “From now on you will fish for people.” Peter’s skills as a fisherman were not wasted; they were transformed. Instead of catching fish, he would now bring people to the knowledge of Christ. This is a powerful reminder that God can use our everyday skills and experiences for His greater purpose. Whatever you do—whether you're a teacher, a student, an artist, or in any other profession—God can use your unique abilities to reach others.

Reflect on this: Jesus didn't wait for Peter to be perfect before calling him. Peter was an ordinary person with flaws and doubts. Yet, Jesus saw his potential and called him anyway. Similarly, God sees your potential and wants to use you, just as you are. Don’t wait until you feel “ready” or “perfect” to step into God’s calling for your life. He wants to work through you now.

So, how can we apply this in our daily lives? Here are a few practical steps:
