Devotional Message:
(Colossians 3:17)
"Whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus."

Observation:

Colossians 3:17 is a simple verse, but it holds deep and powerful truth. It says:
"Whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus."

Let’s take a moment to slow down and think about that. The verse begins with the word “whatever.” That means this message applies to everything — not just the big parts of life, but even the small and ordinary ones. God isn’t only interested in what we do on Sundays at church. He wants to be a part of every detail of our lives — our conversations, our work, our attitudes, our habits, even our rest.

When Paul says, “do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus,” he’s saying that our lives should reflect who Jesus is and what He’s about. To do something "in His name" means we do it as His representatives — we carry His name with us everywhere we go. Think about that. If someone looked at your life, would they be able to tell that you belong to Jesus?

Doing something “in His name” also means we’re doing it with His approval. Just like you wouldn’t sign someone else’s name on a check without their permission, we shouldn’t do things in Jesus’ name unless they truly reflect His character. If we can’t imagine Jesus putting His name on something we say or do, then we need to ask ourselves — should we be saying or doing it at all?

This verse also reminds us that our lives are not our own. We were bought with a price — the blood of Jesus. So now we live for Him. Not for ourselves. Not for applause. Not for money or fame. But for Jesus. All for Jesus.
