Devotional Message:
(Acts 2:4)
"All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit enabled them."

Observation:

Acts 2:4 is one of the most powerful turning points in all of Scripture. Up until this moment, the followers of Jesus had been waiting. They had been praying. They had been doing what Jesus told them to do — to stay in Jerusalem and wait for the promise of the Father. And then it happened. Suddenly. Without warning. The Holy Spirit filled the room, and more importantly, He filled each one of them.

The verse says, "All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit." Think about that. Not just Peter, not just John, not just the leaders — but every single one of them. That’s significant. The Spirit wasn’t just for the “important” or the “qualified.” He was poured out on all who believed and were present. Young and old, male and female, bold and shy — the Spirit made no distinction. He filled everyone.

And then something amazing happened. They began to speak in other tongues — in languages they had never learned — as the Spirit enabled them. This wasn’t something they practiced or prepared for. It wasn’t fake. It wasn’t emotional hype. It was something only the Spirit could do.

Why languages? Because people from all over the world were in Jerusalem for the feast. And suddenly, they heard these ordinary Galileans speaking about the greatness of God in their own languages. It was a miracle. It was intentional. And it was God’s way of launching the Church with a message: This good news is for everyone. And this power is for everyone.

But let’s not miss this: The early disciples had no idea how to start a church. They didn’t have church growth strategies. They didn’t have social media. They didn’t have microphones or a stage. But they had the Holy Spirit. And that was enough. The Spirit empowered them, filled them, led
